We are excited to announce the successful establishment of our 15th Child Protection Committee in the remote hills of Darjeeling, marking another significant milestone in our mission to safeguard children across West Bengal.

This new committee will serve three schools in the region and provide protection coverage for over 500 children. The committee comprises trained community members, teachers, and local leaders who will work together to identify, prevent, and respond to child protection concerns.

## Training and Capacity Building

Over the past month, our team conducted intensive training sessions for committee members, covering topics such as:

- Recognizing signs of abuse and neglect
- Proper reporting procedures
- Supporting affected children
- Community awareness strategies

The training was led by our experienced team members and included practical scenarios and role-playing exercises to ensure committee members feel confident in their new roles.

## Community Impact

Local community leader Mrs. Kamala Sharma shared, "This committee gives us the tools and knowledge we need to better protect our children. We now have a clear process and support system in place."

The establishment of this committee brings our total coverage to over 7,500 children across West Bengal, representing a significant expansion of our child protection network.

New Child Protection Committee Established in Darjeeling Hills

We are thrilled to announce the successful launch of our Youth Leadership Training Program, with 50 enthusiastic young leaders from across West Bengal participating in our inaugural batch.

This comprehensive three-week program is designed to equip young people with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to become effective community leaders and change agents.

## Program Highlights

The training covers essential leadership competencies including:

- Community needs assessment and project planning
- Communication and public speaking skills
- Conflict resolution and mediation
- Fundraising and resource mobilization
- Digital advocacy and social media engagement
- Ethics in leadership and social responsibility

## Participant Diversity

Our cohort represents remarkable diversity:
- Age range: 18-25 years
- Geographic spread: 12 districts of West Bengal
- Educational backgrounds: Students, graduates, working professionals
- Gender representation: 60% female participants

## Future Impact

Upon completion, these trained leaders will return to their communities to implement locally-relevant projects. We expect to see at least 25 community-led initiatives launched within the next six months.

This program represents our investment in the next generation of social leaders who will carry forward the mission of inclusive community development.
